Actually I mis-read the date, I thought you’d paid on 12th dec. If it was clear at the time of payment that the watch wouldn’t be posted until the new year that’s not too bad.
Nevertheless, if there’s going to be an additional delay, the seller should certainly kee you informed.

I am not in any rush, but I didn’t get a warm and fuzzy feeling from his reason which makes no sense. Feel better that I canceled. I can’t imagine how he’d respond if there was an issue with the watch when he couldn’t even stay composed when I asked about shipping.

I think, you should learn more and slow down with buying vintage Omegas. You joined here 10 DAYS ago and have asked quite a few opinions on all sorts of models and styles. I could not really see your own research input in this. Impulse buying and cancelling the next minute on not watch related issues. If you keep that up, you will get burned soon. And to the Arthur Saga: you paid 22.12.21, correct? When did the payment reached the buyers account? After all there was something called Christmas around the corner with Banks Closed. The seller tells you, he ships after he is on Holidays. Which many people take over Christmas/ New Year. I don't know, what is the custom in your country, but here the Banks opened 04.01.22. If I take a holiday, I bring all watches ( customers and mine ) to the safe deposit box inside the bank. So, here I could access that 04.01.22 the earliest. And now read your own posts before. That's what I call inpatient. Not everything is accessible 24/7/365. Thank God. Patience and learning before pulling the trigger pays off in vintage watches.

I’ve been buying vintage watches for a few years. Not a serious collector but enjoy wearing a watch that’s been kept as new for decades. Plus no one I run into will be wearing one. Probably have about 15 watches with 6 vintage Omegas and 2 vintage Rolexes. I asked about the Seamaster 321 because it was relatively expensive and while I was at it, thought I’d ask about the watch from Arthur. I wasn’t being impatient, I was following up with the seller. Apparently he didn’t like it. Customer service is important and his customer service was shyte. I guess you’re a seller based on your stance in your posts as you seem defensive and are pushing the responsibility to the buyer when the seller should bear the bulk of the responsibility in these transactions. Sellers should do their research and a buyer should be able to rely on them. In addition, they need to know how to treat customers properly. I know that’s not always reality, but that’s the standard I hold my sellers to. Arthur is not a quality purveyor of vintage watches IMHO.

Agree on slowing down, but seems to me that the main problem is seller becoming annoyed about basic customer care, and here the OP is totally right in my opinion.

Thanks. It’s not a question of rushing on my part. There are a few watches I have been on the lookout for and sometimes they show up in bunches. Also, I’ve stuck with a few dealers that I know I can trust until recently since some of the watches I wanted (e.g. Seamaster chronograph) are impossible to source without casting a wider net. I have also been on the lookout for a 18k gold vintage watch for some time and last night found one for what seems to be a reasonable price. I’ll be posting photos of that watch here for advice before I buy it since it’s not from my usual source, not because I am rushing.
