Need help with an inherited 1945 Omega Ref. 2271 (Cal. 30mm) with original papers

Hi everyone,
I recently inherited this beautiful vintage Omega from my family, and I am looking to learn more about it. I am not an expert at all, so any information you can share would be greatly appreciated!
According to the family papers, it was purchased on March 29, 1945. The case reference seems to be 2271, and I believe it houses the famous 30mm caliber.
I have two main questions:
  1. Material: I am trying to figure out if the case is solid gold, gold-filled/plated, or stainless steel. I cannot find any obvious hallmarks on the outside. Where should I look, or what details in the photos might give it away?
  2. Value: While I plan to keep this piece in the family, I would love to know a rough, realistic market value for insurance or just curiosity, especially considering it retains the rare original 1945 booklet.

Thank you so much in advance.

The caseback will most likely be a "snap back"/"press on".

If you can remove the caseback, or have it done for you by a qualified person, the markings on the inside of the caseback will tell us a lot more about the watch.

Post some good clear photos of the inside of the caseback, and of the movement.

So so pictures, but mid case based on lugs looks like steel with a gold bezel. Could be gold or gold filled.

Not sure if hands are original. Minute looks a tad long.

Movement? Need to open to check caliber and condition.

Value is based on originality and overall condition. Me personally. I would rate a 2 tone below a nice all gold filled case, gold filled below a gold capped and GC below all steel. After that comes various karat gold models and rarer something in platinum.

If the case back has a reference number. Can use that to search to find a value

Turns out. Info in booklet. 30mm size, but no caliber reference, so maybe 30T2

Leaf hands

Reference 2271 and a two tone did show up. All that’s needed is movement condition
