When's the last time you've seen an applied Omega logo but printed OMEGA? It's either both applied or both printed. The 3 o'clock lume plot doesn't even have a border... and that's before we get to the fact that it doesn't have a serial number
Some models between approximately 2005 and 2010 had only the logo applied.

I have this model. The case back on your watch is an older version. Also as mentioned already Seamaster should be Red. Lastly, the bottom font: Co-Axial, Professional, etc seems to large / off.

The Seamaster is in red. It’s just faded to the point it is actually pink

Some models between approximately 2005 and 2010 had only the logo applied.

But I believe those were pre-coaxial versions AND had the Seamaster on the lower part of the dial, not upper. I’m not an expert on these by any means, but that’s what a quick google image search reveals. If someone can show a picture of a real Seamaster from this era that has all the characteristics of the OP’s dial, I’d like to see it.

Also, another quick google search for fading on the red Seamaster only brings up a couple of reddit pages on replicas complaining about this.

Not looking good.

At this point my suspension are confirmed. I’m sending it in to them tomorrow. I will just write down the findings and let them actually do the ethical thing and refund my son the money. Thanks for everyone’s input.

Since the general consensus is that this is a fake, you have nothing to lose by removing the case back. Then the Chinese movement will prove definitively that this is counterfeit and Poshmark will have to believe you...and maybe they’ll reconsider who they use for “authentication”.

I agree. the problem is that I don't own a wrench, but maybe I can try and use a different tool. It's on there pretty tight so I don't see using any type of friction ball or anything.

If it was a co-axial it would have the text Omega 2500 on the rotor

Yeah. It’s not even close. It looks like a basic $20 movement.

Of the top of my head, the quartz versions had it and the Planet Oceans too. Anyway, was just specifically referring to the applied logo, meaning that an applied logo and printed text doesn't mean an Omega watch is fake. The watch of the OP most obviously is not genuine.

The only thing I’m 100% about is that this is a fake watch.

Using double sided sticky tape I removed it.
That’s all the proof you need to show them. They sold your son an “authentic” fake watch.

Didn’t mean to imply that that combination alone was a tell. I know it was used on the Planet Oceans of the era, and on the pre-coaxial versions of the Seamaster Pro. My point was I had never seen a raised logo, printed OMEGA, and Seamaster all on the upper dial of a co-axial version of one of these. So I thought it was worth pointing out as a clear tell that it was likely a fake in case others are pursuing these threads in the future looking for signs of whether a watch is real or not.

Cheers.

They emailed back and gave me a shipping label to send the watch to them. I printed out the pic of the movement and wrote down some pointers. They stated they will issue a full refund to my son once verifying. Thanks again for everyone's help. Much appreciated.

That watch is a terrible fake, doesn't say much for their ability to authenticate.

That's really embarrassing for them that they authenticated such an obvious fake

I’m terrible at understanding the nuances of watch movements, but the finishing on this one is incredibly crude. As @Bryan R said, it looks like a $20 no-name movement. I’m happy that it seems to be going in your son’s direction.
