IMHO step dial can't be compared to a flat one(aesthetically talking).

I realized I wanted a pretty moonwatch vs. a vintage moonwatch. It felt good to let go of an aspiration that was never personal to me. I went with a more cost-effective and beautiful Moonwatch 1450022.
