Hey guys,

I am looking to buy a Omega Speedmaster from the year 1992 (my year of birth).

Found some on chrono24

My first choice would be this one:

Omega Speedmaster 145.022 Professional Moonwatch Full Set 1992

The dealer is asking for 5.950€ + shipping (from Italy to Germany).

Should i buy it or is this Modell overpriced?

THANKS and sorry for my bad english.

It's a really nice Speedy with a super attractive lume on plots and hands.
As mentionned by @tyrantlizardrex , the price is a no go for me. You can get a nice -71 (for example) with this money.

Cheers.

We'd be doing the same research... so... yeah. 😀

€3500-€4000 would probably be top of sane pricing at a dealer.

I have seen 90's tritium Speedmasters on eBay in the last year sell between £2500 and £3000 here in the UK.

I know the Birth Year game is fun - but honestly, I'd be looking at a brand new speedmaster at this price... and then turning into my own vintage watch over the next 50 years.

I keep coming back to the thought, that for this money, you could buy a brand new Speedmaster, and make it vintage through use and ownership...

I own a speedy from the year 2018 that I bought new😀

In that case, and if you heart is dead set on a 1992 watch - Cool your jets, and take your time - there's no rush. You need a great watch at a fair price. That might take a little time. Just make sure you have the cash on hand, and be patient. Lots of fun to be had in the hunt! 👍

Patience is often required to find the right watch at a fair price. Cash on hand is always required for the right watch!
However is the -92 on the inside of the case back the real birth year or is an Extract required for the real birth year?

that’s a particularly good price though. It’ll be tough for him to find another deal like that.

Also, for what it’s worth to the OP. The warranty card indicates it was sold in 1992 but likely made in 1991. Is that important to you?
