    Dear members,

I recently bought a 50s Seamaster and despite the fact that it is a 34mm watch (and Iam 190cm tall), I pretty much like it.

However, I am usually more of a bracelet guy. On the one hand, Iam in love with the old rivet bracelet from Rolex, but on the other hand I am also in love with the bumper case-shape from Omega, especially in combination with these 3-9-12 subsecond-dials of those Seamasters from the 50s.

Can you please advise me, whether there is an Omega bracelet (other than a BOR) that suits the watch and comes close to those rivet bracelets from Rolex?

Help would me very much appreciated :)

    Many thanks in advance!

BOR bracelets look best as the end links are designed to match the curve of the lug tops. Matching a secondary bracelet. You end up using straight end pieces or maybe they also come with two types

Here's a Jubilee styled bracelet from Ali Express for $15.00

I wouldn’t know a rivet bracelet that fits, but if the BoR is too “busy”, visually, how about a flat link? 7912 with #4 endlinks fits great:

Thank you both for your replies.

@DON: Those jubilee styled bracelets really look too busy for me.

@MtV: That is probably almost exactly what I am looking for. However, despite the price - I would have no idea how to source such a bracelet in an authentic condition. Guess ebay might be not a good idea since I am not capable to precisely evaluate potential offers. Do you have an idea when it comes to a dealer?

Thank you for the picture. Not really a huge fan of the BOR. Is the bracelet on the left technically suitable to my Seamaster?

No it’s late 60’s/early 70’s so too modern.

The parts for sale forum here frequently has 7912’s with 4’s for sale.

If you wanted the look without the price a modern repro is available from Forstner bands.

The 7912 is probably to expensive, especially in relation to the watch.

Iam aware of the Forstner, however it comes with 19mm lug width, whereas my Seamaster has 18mm and Iam also not sure whether the endlinks fit. Anyway, thank for your proposal.

I have a similar bracelet (1168 w/ 605 end links) and watch with a similar case shape to yours (2846). I can try to pair the two and post a picture. Probably won’t be until tomorrow evening though.

Edit: Apparently I’d rather eff around with watch parts than work on my to-do list around the house. Don’t tell mrs osa.

(I had this case sitting in my parts drawer, so just imagine there’s a watch in there.)

As far as the pairing, could be worse, could be better, imo.

True - not sure if the Forstner repro works with original #4 end links?

Sometimes you can find interesting vintage bracelets on eBay. In the example below, I have a KO 2627 on a gold-filled Polonaise mesh bracelet from Jacoby-Bender "Champion" series. In the US, at least, there were a wealth of aftermarket bracelets one could buy, and you can still find them today.

A vintage rivet oyster fits the fat lug Seamasters very good :)

    Hi,
thanks to all of you for your answers and the pictures you posted. I try to answer everyboddy (please excuse if I forgot somebody):

@sonicosa: I agree on "could be better, could be worse" when it comes to the pairing with the 1168. Your pictures provide me a good impression how the aforementioned bracelet might look on my Seamaster case, as the 2846 is probable similar to mine.
Please do not put any more effort in pairing the bracelet with other cases, especially when there is work to do in or with the house - happy wife, happy life ;)

@padderrs: You are probably right that the BOR might be "the" bracelet (more to this in my conclusion).

@SkunkPrince: Thank you for your picture, I actually like the look of the watch on this particular bracelet.

@hejsam: Also thank you for the picture. The rivet oyster looks good, however, I don't want to combine an original Rolex bracelet with an Omega watch (guess your bracelet is the original Rolex bracelet).

    Conclusion:
I came to the conclusion that a rivet bracelet that looks like the one from Rolex belongs to Rolex watches (what a brilliant conclusion :D) and that I probably can't get this particular look with my Seamaster.
When it comes to the Seamaster, I'll play around with more leather and perlon options and I probably try some aftermarket options (maybe "The Klip" from Forstner, for example. The "Flat Link" might not suit to the lug-width of my Seamaster.
For the future, I try to train my eyes when it comes to Rolex pieces and would also be happy if I could ask this forum for help and opinions.

Thank you again and have a nice Sunday ahead.

The rivet oyster I showed is a non branded vintage bracelet, so no connection to Rolex at all.

There was a lot of rivet oyster bracelets back in the days besides Rolex.
Gay Freres made rivet oysters already in the 40s but probably not with curved ends though.

@ConElPueblo has in the past linked to a modern riveted cheap eBay bracelet which he says is pretty good quality. If you do want to try that look, it can be done fairly cheaply. Maybe pm him for a steer or maybe he will see this and post a link. I seem to recall it was ~£35 for something nice and solid.
