Help needed for possible buy

Hi OF,
It has been a while since I last posted a topic, except for an occasional WRUW 😀. This time I would like to ask you all for helping me to identify this watch and help me in determining the rough price range to possibly buy it for.

based on the limited info it seems to me 18k case. Is advertised as plated. I think it to be a Tresor out of the 50s based on the holes in the lugs? Dial looks to have some wear aroud the sub second. Crown is signed and looks original. Don’t know about the crystal. What do you think it is and what could be the buying price?
Now for some pics:

My gut feeling is that this dial is going to be worse in-person. If you can get it for the price of a plated watch and the case is gold (which it looks to be), then you're safe of course.

My two penn’orth: If there’s one rule of thumb to live by in this game, it’s this one - blurry photos are blurry for a reason. Walk away.

Looks more than wear around the sub seconds. Looks like it's scratched to hell.

Thanks all for weighing in. Any thoughts about it being a Tresor?

It is hard to make an objective judgement with the pictures offered. And also the absence of pictures of the inside case back, and the mechanism. So I will reserve judgement.

Color looks like gold but I see no hallmark or help.
Pictures may be lacking out of naivete' or may be planned.
Buy as if it was the worst case and you can't lose.

Thanks all for replying. Photo's are not the best quality to say the least😉
I also would like to see the insides, but I think it's mostly due to naiveness that those are not included. I also expect the seller not being able to open the case and knowing exactly what’s at hand. Asking price is €600

I am not an expert of course but sounds not expensive for gold... Looks to be in gold for sure... Possibly 9K?

9k is imo unlikely but you can never rule it out. As far as I know 9k cases were only produced in the UK. If it is a Tresor it most certainly won’t be 9 k

The picture of the (fake) clasp is sharp - so why can’t he manage to produce equally good pictures of the rest of the watch? That doesn’t make sense to me.

I don’t see a hallmark so it might well be a gold-filled case, including the case back, no? And if it is, with that dial, 600€ is too much. Should it be solid gold it might be worth a little more, but personally I don’t see a good risk-reward ratio here.

Sage advice, but major props for the “two penn’orth” usage…

Playing with the contrast of one of the pictures a bit, it seems there are signs of hallmarks on the lugs. But still, I wouldn't bet my money on it.

I was looking at the lugs indeed, but could not detect anything remotely looking lime a mark. It’s a longshot with picture enhancement. Far fetched to me that there are markings.👎
I have asked some questions, hopefully the answers turn out to be ok for the watch

So, an update on the watch. I pulled the trigger after receiving better pics. Asked for a discount based on the dial damage around the seconds hand. Received the watch today and it turns out to be a solid gold watch. 👍 Someone did try to oryit open at the wrong places, the watch runs, bit I can’t pull out the crown to set the time👎
Anyone here an idea? Also I’m wondering if this is a front loader?
All in all, very happy with the purchase! Now for some decent pics.

The case back can be removed. Do no try it yourself! It would be easy for someone with experience and the right tool. But if you have neither, you could do expensive damage by trying.

So, made some time free this morning to open up the watch (I have the correct tools😉). This showed up: It turns out to be a 14k beauty. Looks like some screes were affected by moisture. What do you lovely people think it dates back to? Movement says late 40s. Caseback number early 50s. Any ideas about the model?
Would appreciate your feedback👍

Its easy the "model" is inscribed inside the case back: ref. (OJ) 2495 (OJ which means 14K)

It does not have a special model name, just the reference #

Well then, that’s cleared. If life was that simple😉
What about the rough year of birth?
