Help needed for Cal. 1-69, looking for 1497

Hello OF members,

I recently acquired Universal Geneve Polurouter Super 869112

I noticed some play in the microtor mechanism so I started looking part number 1497 (oscillating axle for bearing rotation microtor), but it's gone everywhere

According to my research the old microtor mechanism with part number 1496 also fits into Cal. 1-69. Can anyone confirm if this is true and if so, what parts I need to have to convert to non bearing microtor mechanism?

Or any lead to find part 1497 would be much appreciated

1496 from a 215/218 rotor mechanism does not fit a cal 68-69 mechanism.
You will need to swap over the entire rotor from a 215/218.

Right, when you say "entire rotor from 215/218," Do you mean everything on that diagram? or just the rotor side parts? (everything except from 1485 to 1428)

I'm asking because it looks like its much easier to find parts for 215/218 unfortunately.

Everything in the diagram.
If you are worried about damaging the caseback, you can just remove the rotor and turn it into a manual wind watch until you find the right parts.

Looks like I don't have much choice other than removing the rotor weight for now.

Most (if not all) Microtor parts are NLA new from supply houses and haven't been made in 60+ years.

The short answer: @CafeRacer posted the link about interchangabilty. Find and swap in a 215 or 218 complete rotor assembly. I found one eBay from a watch parts seller.

It is two screws and an easy swap.

Then save and hoard the existing 69 bearing rotor because someone needs those parts.

As above, you can also remove the complete Microtor assembly and run the watch as manual (that's how mine came, complete with scoring witness marks on the caseback from the Microtor going bad decades earlier).

I was lucky enough to not deal with discontinued parts so far, I think it's my turn now haha

The older microrotor (no bearings) can be repaired. It is fiddly as it means re-sleeving the pinion but doable. It probably gives it another 20-30 years of use which should be enough for someone to come up with a better fix.

you can also buy new axles (1496) for the older microtor style to fix 90% of the issues.

Where did you find them? I had gone looking last year and struck out.
