Help me identify these two Omega :)

Hello everyone,
This is my first thread on this forum 馃槈
As a young watch enthusiast, I inherited two timepieces from my great-grandparents. They are both Omega, and I would like to identify the models and the approximate years of manufacture of both of them.

According to my first research, the square model might be a Gen猫ve Square Classic manufactured in the years 69/70. However, I have not found on the internet any other model with Roman numerals on the dial. I think that it is animated by the caliber 565 of Omega, but I do not have certainty. I don't want to open it because it seems very fragile at the moment and I prefer to leave this work to a professional!

This is the square model :

For the rectangular model, I have no information on the model, the year of manufacture, or the movement which animates it. It is a manual movement that still works properly :

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any information about these two watches.
I can post more pictures if needed!

Thanks 馃榾

Louis

Hi. From those two pictures i think you can only get limited information as you found yourself . My advice is to go to an watchmaker to open your watches and inside them you will have the serial numbers which will date the watches with an approximation of 1-2 years, the caliber (movement number) and the inside the case back the ref. no. of the watch. Welcome to the forum!

Hi Louis,

Nice couple of Omegas you got there. I'm not sure there is a specific model name for those except for model # which are inside the case backs. It's probably not all that important to know the model numbers all that much at this time except to date the watches, and that exact info can be obtained when you decide to get them serviced as they can be opened up at that time. For now to satisfy your curiosity there will probably be a fellow member here that is familiar with these dress models and can make an approximation for you. However I wouldn't suggest you run them much until you get them serviced as the oils are probably all dried up. They both look to be in excellent condition and you are fortunate to have received them 馃憤

Dear all, thank you so much for your answers. I really appreciate your time and pieces of advice !
I do plan to have them serviced by a competent watchmaker before wearing them again. Indeed, it will be an opportunity to learn more about these models!
Do you think it is better to use a service certified by Omega? Or can I go to an independent watchmaker? I often move and have not yet had the opportunity to establish a relationship of trust with a particular specialist.

The rectangular one is very nice. It's gold case?
Welcome
Yes it is a gold case 馃榾

Many thanks again ! 馃榿

To me, If its case is solid gold then it could be of value.
The first one (squared) seems gold capped/plated due to signs of wear on lugs. Used to have a pretty same square Omega (hand wind unfortunately but cal equipped with hacking second, i.e. second hand stops when you pull out the crown)
