I have been looking at the grey side.

It's a lovely watch, but not dark enough for me.

I like the black ones.

Pitch black is nice, and I can get it at a good price.

But is the lumni too much?

It's nice to have, but do you really want it on all the time?

The other two just have it on the dials.

Which makes them a bit more discreet in the dark,

A friend of mine has the Pitch Black, and I don't find it over the top. During the day you don't really see any activated lume, its very subdued. During the evening its usually pretty subtle again, unless you've activated the lume on purpose. But man o man, when you hit that lume with a bright light, it definitely wakes up.

I can get a really good deal on the Pitch Black, but i'm not too keen on the leather strap.

I would prefer to have the Black/Black, or Dark Side fabric strap on it.

But I don't want to go around looking like this at night lol

Get the GSOM and buy the Ti speedy bracelet.

It's interesting to see what everyone likes.

They are all nice watches.

But I'm a kind of a dark person, and black suits my style.

I just think that it is a stylish colour.

I just got a GSotM so I voted with my wallet, but if I were going to get one of the DSotM's I'd go with the original.

Just seen one of these in the OB in The Bellagio. They'd just gotten it in and I happened to be in there (also had a wander round the Rolex Boutique opposite).

Didn't have time to have a proper look, but it certainly looks special. They only have one in, but if it's still thee next time I go down, I'll have to try it on!

I love and own the black one, with fabric strap and buckle. I find it sporty but still classy. Goes well both as daily wearer or on special occasions. Understatement but not a tuxedo watch though.
As always it comes down to personal choice and budget.
You probably can't go wrong, still good to think twice before you go.

For Gods sake wait for Basel 2017 where Omega will probably introduce 6 new iterations of the DSOM:

DSOM - A bit more Dark
DSOM - A lot more Dark
DSOM - Incredibly Dark
DSOM - Pitch Black Darky Dark
DSOM - Plain Dark
DSOM - Just Dark Black Dark

I have the original, and though I wore it daily for over a year, and have since put it in the back ground, whenever it comes out, it amazes me

Should I hold, or do you think that now is a good time to buy what is out there?

When do Omega release their new models to the public?

The rep said that these watches may go to Master Chronometer.

Will that mean that the current DSOMs will become less desirable, and lose their after market value pretty soon.

I like this one too.

Just wish it had the full lumni.

That's why I want the Pitch Black.

But I would prefer to have the black nato strap. Because I don't like the leather strap that it comes with.

Pitch black !

I like Pitch Black too, but I'm not a fan on the leather strap.

Would prefer the black nato strap that the other two come with.

I upgraded to the deployant strap and buckle, so I have the other strap with ceramic tang and buckle

PM me if interested

If you buy retail DSOM's lose their market value anyway by around 35%-40%, from what I have seen of US pricing in the grey or pre-owned market. I don't think they would lose much more than that even with a new METAS/Master Chronometer certification. I certainly would never buy an Omega watch at the retail price point, with the exception of certain truly Limited Editions, and expect them to retain any significant residual value after purchase.

I do think it is quite likely (without any strong evidence to back this up) that many of the 9300 Speedies will receive METAS/Master Chronometer certification next year. Basel 2017 (final week of March 2017) is the event where Omega (and many other watch companies) announce new releases, but based on historical performance, they will only turn up for sale in OBs and ADs by Q3-Q4 2017. So I suppose you need to ask the question: can your itch to pull the trigger on a DSOM wait until Oct-Nov 2017?

Hi,

I looked at the following three models today and can't decide on which one to go for.

It's either the :

Speedmaster (DSOM) Pitch Black
Speedmaster (DSOM) Black / Black
Speedmaster (DSOM) Dark Side

I like the Pitch Black because it's easy to read and the lumni display.
The Black Black looks so nice, and the strap is great, but the dials and tachymetre are a big hard to see.
The Dark side is great, and I like the read touches, but it doesn't have the full lumni of the Pitch Black.

Either way they are still great watches, but it's a hard choice.

Thanks

I've seen the Pitch Black in person several times, and can say it's probably my fav out of this line up. I'd throw it on a black strap and just start dressing as a ninja.
