Hi all, I bought this watch on eBay in June 2013. It was not very expensive. The listing was titled "Mens OMEGA Bumper AUTOMATIC SS Case cal.342 1950s Wristwatch Item# 151048921987" and came from a seller in Turkey.

It keeps perfect time (from what I can tell) and I love this watch. I always expected the dial was restored or redone at some point. I have not seen a bumper with painted numerals, but I came across this old omega with painted numerals: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-value-proposition-vintage-edition-omega-seamaster-30 which got me wondering more about the dial on mine.

I was hoping someone could confirm for me that this dial was redone, or serviced, or any other information. Thanks so much in advance.

I don't think the dial is original. The Omega logo is of the modern style as opposed to a '50's era applied logo. The dial is signed T SWISS MADE T (that indicates tritium) and it has no tritium on the dial. The numerals would have been painted in a different style or with tritium. The dial appears to be stamped looking at the subdial and not up to Omega standards. I think it is aftermarket.

No, the ebay listing had them, but unfortunately I can no longer pull that up. I don't know enough to take it apart..

 

Welcome to the forum! Your watch looks nice to me, regardless of whether it has been redialed. If you are wearing it but do not know when it was last serviced, you should get it serviced by a vintage watchmaker if you intend to keep it.
