I’m looking for advice on where to get these valued or a rough value for insurance purposes. Serial numbers inside watches for Gold 14350-2 stainless 2892-1. Also age. I think my dad bought them in the 60s. Thanks
By 'washed' we mean that at some point the watch dial has been cleaned very crudely (perhaps to remove aging or some damage) and the finish has come off. Value-wise it is a bit of a killer, sorry.
The monetary value of these vintage watches in a sale would be far less than what an insurance company would value them at, since they will look at what a modern substitute Omega would cost, not what the second hand price of these particular ones would be.
Also, regarding the sale value: hard to say from those pictures, but assuming both work and the movements are in an ok shape, I’d say veeeery roughly 300$ for the 2892 (including the bracelet), 1000$ for the 14350. This might well vary significantly due to quite a few factors, but it’s to give you a rough idea.
