Hey all,

Just looking for some help determining if this watch looks good and it's value before I purchase. It's a birth year watch (1986) with extract. Thanks in advance!

Would box and papers add any significant value?
Not that much, a few hundred $$s

(more significant for older models)

What’s the price it’s offered for ?

No box or papers, but with extract is 4750 plus tax. Another example with box and papers is 5700 plus tax.

Unusual that someone paid for an Extract for a 1980s Speedmaster. You won't find that very often, and obviously that's the only way to know the production year with certainty, if that is important to you.

I would be buying the $4750 😉
No way I’m paying $1k for box and papers for a 80s model Speedmaster.

Also, I was reading that the 145.022 changed over to 145.0022 in early 80s. Why wouldn't this one have that stamped on caseback? I see that all the 86 examples have 145.022.

Easy. They changed the numbering in their system but had lots of the old ones already made. Why throw them away or add a new engraving? They just used them up.
