I found a Conestellation Piepan for sale for $1400. Was told it is one owner all original and has been kept in a safe it’s entire life and a beautiful piece.
I’m new to watches, can anyone help take a look at the photos and let me know if everything looks good and if the price is right. Also any questions I should ask. Thanks

It might have been taken out of the safe one time so they could polish the crap out of it on a buffing wheel. I think that $1400 might be a top price for this watch in perfect condition, serviced, from a professional dealer with a warranty. And TBH, I'm on the fence about the dial, although the photos seem to have some compression artifacts, so it's hard to judge (the dial doesn't look great in the first couple of photos, but better in the last one).

Good that you asked @Milo0904.

As Dan says the case is polished to hell and back.
The medallion is heavily worn.

The watch is a late variant with painted indices, instead of onyx.

The hands are incorrect.
The crown is incorrect.

And the dial does look very suspicious too.

As David says, One to avoid.

As the others have said: The story you've heard is a total fabrication obviously, so you can't trust them about anything on this watch. I'd run from that.
