I bought this watch for my son's 21st. The watch keeps time but I can't get any of the chronograph functions to work. It is stuck as seen in the photo. Is there something I'm missing? I managed to find images of an instruction manual but nothing I do changes the current display. Thanks!

Was the watch listed as being fully functional?

Hi, yes it was but the seller is being very unhelpful. I don't want to return it if it's something simple and easily sorted.

Hello I am the seller. the watch fully worked when sent. are you saying that none of the 4 push buttons operate? The top right+ start stop for example?

How would a photo show that the stopwatch feature is stuck?

It was very well packed and shipped.

I don’t know this particular movement, with the digital subdials, but it appears to be based on an ETA movement I am familiar with. On that. One, it is quite common for the central minute counter, seconds counter, and subdial counters to become biased away from zero when stopped and reset. This can happen especially after a new battery is installed. All you need to do is pull out the crown to the 1 or 2 positions and depress specific pushers to cause the hands to move at one-step increments until they are reset. Each pusher/crown combo affects a different hand.

I can’t tell if this is the problem or not, but you might try it. I can’t tell you which combination will work, but experimenting won’t hurt it. Maybe try and see if anything happens?

Or maybe boot it by removing the cell and re-installing it? Worth a try.

Thanks for the replies. None of the pushers do anything when depressed no matter what position the crown is in. I wasn't willing to start disassembling the watch to try a reboot either. I have now returned the watch.

Odd, maybe the seller can chime with what the problem was when he gets it back !

There may be a sequence and combination of simultaneously pushers that do something. My 1990s swatch had an unintuitive reset sequence and only pictogram for instructions. YMMV.
