If you do get it serviced, ask your watchmaker to take good photos of the movement, and inside the case back.

the case back will give you more info on who actually made the case - as Omega used many different Goldsmith firms, all can be identified, as they have their own hammer or punch marks

if you are interested, settle down with a nice drink and read Desmonds website - mainly about Constellations, but some great stuff here about Omega watches from this golden era in general.

And specifically this essay wrt who made your Gold case

You may also Identify those little hall marks on the bracelet

Hope you get hooked, and come back here. We are a likeable bunch, really !

That's lovely! I'm mainly a chronograph man but I'd leave it on the bracelet and wear it very regularly. That is after it comes back from a service by Abel Court. He's in Belgium, so I'm guessing not far from you.

I would get it serviced, put a nice black strap on ir, and wear it for special occasions. It doesn't do anybody any good sitting in a box!!!

Yeah but I don't like gold colour. It just doesn't fit me well. But I'll wear it after servicing on special occosions to come as it is to honour its legacy :-)

Dozens of competent watchmakers closer by. Abel is top notch but mostly quite busy....
