Hello, I have read your posts for a while and now it's time to post.

I have this Vintage Seamaster from Dad but searching the web I'm lost.

Anyone....What do I have?

On the back, it says (18K) (Seamaster) (16211)

It is manual wind and looks to be Rose Gold in color.

Thank You,
Mike

Not an Omega. Sorry.
There is a thread on this site on posting fake Omegas. This one is very common.

Yes, unfortunately a well recognised fake (counterfiet).
Many many of these were made during the 1950s/1960s and none of them were 18K gold.

A commonly seen style of fake. Probably something your dad picked up cheaply on a holiday to Marbella or similar in the 70s. Open it up and you鈥檒l find an FHF movement or similar. Unless solid gold, which it won鈥檛 be, other than as a sentimental keepsake, it鈥檚 worthless. Less than worthless actually since it sets out to deceive with bogus markings for both manufacturer and gold content. They still occasionally pop up at boot saies for a couple of quid.

I don't think so. The original dial makers just copied stuff they saw on contemporary Omega dials, and got a few design cues mixed up.

At least it's not "ANTI-MAGNETIC".

Come on @JimInOz the Seamaster was never that bad

Ah yes. We know how good the quality control and standardisation in these "Omega factories" was in those days!

Ah shit!

I just noticed that I cracked 10,000 posts and didn't even celebrate the momentous event.

Oh well, I'll have a wee dram of Lagavulin right now, in memory of that milestone 19 posts ago.
