And the text up top is missing the serifs.

Daniel, on a complete side note Thanksgiving is coming up here in America. Canned cranberry sauce (more like gel than sauce) is a staple. Every time I see your screen name I think of carving an Ω symbol out of it and posting the picture. Would make a nice avatar! 😜

Oh, and please don't tell me you take your cranberry sauce straight out of a jar/can!

This year, take the jar/can, add half a cup of nice red wine (maybe an Aussie Pinot Noir), a cinnamon quill, a star anise, few cloves, orange peel, and ground nutmeg. Simmer on the stove for 20 min, until combined. Much nicer!

My sister makes real cranberry sauce from actual fresh cranberries. Yuck! I want my "can"-berries. The whole experience, from the shhhhhlup it makes coming out of the can to the sliced lunch meat serving style just screams Thanksgiving to me. Everything else is from scratch (well, we don't grow our own turkey) but not the can-berries.

Damn...........still need a lot to learn..........😵‍💫

Respectable Member Privateday7

Learning to pick up refinished dials or 'improved' watch-cases, frankens and fakes, etc, is more than a life-long journey, for people like us.

The unscrupulous elements are taking advantage of the ever-growing pastime and passion of vintage-watch collecting. Be wary and consult the forum, before picking up anything, let it be just for a small sum of our hard-earn $.

Thank-you.

I think this was a really good thread! Thanks x350 for doing this!
I know! Every time I THINK I'm starting to get a handle on Constellations I get thrown for a loop, I'm starting to only trust one owner watches or dials with bad patina just because they're less likely to come back as dodgy lol

Yes, it is.

They have even gone the the trouble of doctoring the bridges to create a cal 551, adjusted movement. Note how shallow the chamfering on the jewels on the bridge with the caliber number. The bridge has been ground down and re-engraved with the Adjusted, etc. text added on the rotor bridge as well.

Do you think these sellers actually know they're selling these things, or is it possible that these eBay non specialist antique dealers and pickers are just not smart enough to know that they're being had by the people they're buying off and/or are too greedy to research.

This is the only item this seller has, and she has had zero feedback in the last month....
