A 167.005 without dog leg lugs? Or did somebody get WAY too aggressive with the polishing / brushing? It's certainly not the "star" ( hint ;) ) of eBay! This watch is just a T-ease. (another hint)

Oh, there's plenty more for the others to point out.

I'd say the omega logo and applied OMEGA look odd, and the first "n" in constellation looks wrong. But the pie pan borders are sharp, so this is not repainted. AND the double T without tritium anywhere. Maybe a full fake dial?.

Let's see if a newb can spot a couple things...

-The 167 is not a date-watch. So, wrong case back or wrong everything else.
-And the 551 movement is not a date movement.
-The observatory on the caseback doesn't have the brick lines
-The stars also look out of place.
-There should be no T to the right of "Swiss"
-Hands and hour markers should be radium lumed, not black painted.
-The applied "OMEGA" is clearly a fake, with the long connectors between "M_E" and "E_G" being indicative.

I am probably wrong on each point, but I thought I would give it a try :)

In summary, fake dial on fake case with real movement but fake calendar. I have to admit that this counterfeit constellation is well done. Getting one of these is like walking through a dark alley very late at night. You are asking for it!!.

    Lex -

I think you are quite right on most of your points. Good job!

From the movement pic, it does seem to be engraved as a cal. 561, although that bridge looks a little wonky to me.

The observatory on this reference actually doesn't have the brickwork unless the entire caseback is solid gold. That's not to say that this one is OK, just that the case counterfeiter got that particular detail correct.

And this, boys and girls, is why I will not buy a watch from Singapore, or any other Asian country not named "Japan".

Some finer points missed: the star below Constellation is the wrong size & shape, the O and G in OMEGA are not slightly larger than the other letters, and the Ω symbol is slightly misshaped (the feet are too small and the round arc of the horseshoe is too short & squat).

Ooops missed that. One extra point for him.

I'd say Lex wins this round, even with the deduction for the incorrect call on the observatory bricks. Nice job dude!

Funny, this would fool most anybody at a casual glance.

Yes perhaps Omega should hire some of the Asian firms to do their refinishing work. Has to be better then now.

I don't think this dial has been refinished. I think it is fake, just like the case.

I never said it was refinished. It is very evident that it is fake. I merely stated that Omega should consider hiring an Asian firm for refinishing. If they can make a pretty good fake dial, they could do refinishing too.

In deed. These were discussed by Desmond at one time on his blog. Completely fake dial and case.

You all missed the fact that case ref 167.005 is for a NO date cal 551.

I certainly do not know my fakes yet but I've known not to do this long before I even considered buying a watch. Even if one of the experts here said it looked good, I would still pass.
