Has anyone ever made you loathe a watch or maker?

I mean a single individual - for example, when you were a noob somebody sold you a complete Frankenwatch Tudor and even now you just can't bear to see 'Tudor' on a dial, or your business partner gave you a Top Time as a five years of success gift only to find out they were embezzling, so now you absolutely loathe Breitling Top Time examples.

I think it's happened to a buddy of mine but i just can't bring myself to simply say: "Try a different watch! Your ex-wife bought you the Speedmaster, it doesn't HAVE to be a Speedmaster again!"

I've met his ex, so I actually kind of get the animosity, but how do you tell somebody that one? 😵‍💫

Yeah Christopher Ward but I’m trying to get over it as they make some cool looking moon phases and other watches but there were three guys I knew who created this Christopher Ward clique and far too often I would have to hear how superior CW was to anything I had. They would never let it go and some days I’d run into them individually in different areas of the building over an 12 hour shift and it was almost like they rehearsed these attacks. It all started from me one time complimenting one of their watches, worst thing I could have done. Darn I’d start seeing them at the far end of the building and plan a route where I could avoid them. It’s a shame cause I see some very nice looking CW watches but it’s like I’m stuck seeing those three knuckleheads faces on CW dials.

I think Steven Tyler makes that freaky looking Rolex work, I know I couldn’t but he pulls it off

I had a CMW who took a 14700 case that wasn't all that bad and buffed the living crap out of it so badly that I had the case replaced. I sourced the case and I did not pay to have the other parts shifted over.

I see he has a CMW21 certification now. I still will steer you away if you ask me about him.
