·Sits well with a link out of each section and the micro adjuster at the tighter position for me.
The dial really puts on a show in real sunlight....gorgeous bluish-gray.
And the lume color is perfect and much more subtle in person.
No problem reading the time, inside or outside.
Feedback is perfect for the pushers.

·Laser-disks are analog. PWM recorded direct.
CDs are binary. It is possible to do a 1 bit PWM, which is how a lot of players worked.
Ironically NTSC Analog is actually HDR. Since the colors are controlled by voltage, there is an infinite number of colors (colours) possible in the 640 x 240 frame, actually even that is an illusion as the scan rates are time. Shadow masks are really what created the pixel resolution.
Bandwidth (mostly on the recording media) is what keeps standard def with the smaller picture. The number of horizontal lines is fixed at 240 or so. Vertical bandwidth is basically infinite. The color burst, though is what converts the color components. Most of the info is in the luma or B&W signal which is green. Silver Halide though is sensitive to blue. So black and white film and TV have different responses. The sets were painted in weird colors.
Analog though is subject to noise, which further degrades the signal.
Now if the missing Apollo moon landing tapes were ever found ...

·Did you mean vinyl albums? Though I'm not sure those are old fashioned these days, more new fashioned ... e.g., I went to a rural college town 5 hours away from anything & no major airport; the town had a HUGE vinyl shop packed full of college students.
