Hello just bought this lovely watch cal 504 14397 1 SC. but
Hands moving if shaken,thoughts please,
I set both hands to 12 then when I shook it,hands then moved to 12.15 (as shown in picture
Is this likely to be a simple fix for a for a watch repairer,or is it likely to be difficult and costly and needing parts
(I have the option to send it back as it was described as working perfectly)

Thank you for any practical input

Better pictures are needed to confirm but it looks overpolished to the extent the gold cap is worn through on the lugs and it has been redialed. These are much bigger issues than the hands slipping so if this wasn’t described in the listing I’d return it anyway

Hands are not original and it could be a simple fix with the correct hands.
Hard to tell without doing a proper assessment.

I suspect the (wrong) replacement hands are loose on the post.

Unless it was very cheap I would return it.

If only the minute hand moves by shaking, then I would say is probably a loose minute hand. If the minute hand moves by 15 minutes while the hour hand moves by about 1/4 hour, then its more likely that the cannon pinion is loose.

Yep, my guess based on the photo is this is a loose canon pinion. You can see the hands moved together.
