@M'Bob @micampe valid, if rather 😡passionate😡 points.

FTR I have felt an editorial bias at Hodinkee in the past...though more for Tudor/Rolex. No big deal. This might just be a natural editorial passion for a given brand or brand(s), similar to a serious newspaper having an editorial bias in the political spectrum (left-right).

I do see a challenge in maintaining editorial independence if you are explicitly commercially involved with a given watch (another example Ariel Adams and that rather comical Samsung Gear release thing he helped as a rather awkward MC). I am sure Ben, Ariel and Robert are aware of this and how much they might lose in the long term in terms of diminishing a serious editorial brand.

I agree it is too soon to judge Ben and the Hodinkee team...but I think many will be monitoring their future editorial content with interest.

Cheers,

RP

@Riviera Paradise oh you won't see me standing on Ariel Adams’ side. You might not like Hodinkee’s content but at least their writing skills are above sixth grade.

I did not say that I did not "like" their content, I said that they might have an editorial bias to certain brands and if you read again my note "slowly"😀 you will see I wrote "no big deal". Actually I do like Jack Foster very much and I think he was a brilliant sign-up for the team. Some of the other Hodinkee writers are not on the same level and I have found the writing sloppy. I also enjoy some of the "talking watches" videos.

Ariel sometimes has interesting stuff to report but he takes pages and pages of rambling on to get his point across🙄
