Here some pics to help make up your mind. Love the watch. Had some issues (of my own doing I think), but it’s a great piece.

Have you considered the Apollo 8? I have a standard speedy and an Apollo 8 and the Apollo 8 seems slimmer than the standard just due to the overall proportions.

If you don't want a manual wind though I would go for the GSOTM. Have tried it before and the dial is amazing.

Still not managed to see it in the flesh but have a few days off soon, so will do a bit of window shopping.

What issues did you have if you don't mind me asking?

Definitely try them on, I had my heart set on the gray looking on line. When I tried them both on I instantly chose the black.

Can I ask why you went with the black?

I liked the gloss of the black face, and to me it just looked sharper. If I had only looked at pics I would have gotten the gray and would have been happy. This also happened with another purchase, had my heart set on the Rolex GMT, then I went and tried it on and then tried the Explorer II and fell in love with it. That one was just a case of me being used to larger watches and the GMT felt small on my wrist. Now I made a pact with myself to always try them on.

Yeah will definitely try them both on but like you from pictures and videos I'm definitely on the grey at the moment.

But was quite shocked at how easy it was to mark the case like that. Thought they were supposed to be super tough and durable.

Mark the case or chip the case? It's quite hard to mark the ceramic case or even bezel. In the few reports on forums it turned out to be residue of whatever hit the case/bezel. It's not impossible of course but definitely quite difficult to do.

I was lucky enough to get a GSOTM earlier in the year, it’s a fantastic watch both in terms of looks and movement in my opinion. As others have said it doesn’t wear as large as the size suggests, and personally I think the finishing of the ceramic is superb. The only downside is it has slightly less versatility with strap options because of the colour...or maybe I don’t own enough straps!

Had a quick look on the omega website this evening and it says the watch is “no longer available”. Anyone know if they’re discontinuing the line?

I would expect a refresh of some kind based on the 9900 movement, maybe with a few tweaks. The 9900 uses most of the same components as the 9300 so a straight swap would be relatively simple and it will get all the METAS goodness along with the obligatory price hike 😗.
