Gold chain for pocket watches

Hi all,

Recently I have bought some nice pocket watches. Unfortunately, I currently have to wear them on a shoelace, since I don’t own a watch chain… Would anyone have a nice, thin, elegant, (rose) gold chain available? An EU deal is preferred.

Cheers, Peter.

Have you tried eBay? You might want to focus on trying to locate a 19th century English 9 karat gold chain as the alloy tends to be quite red in colour. There’s one on eBay right now. Don’t expect to find a bargain with gold close to $2,000 per oz.

Thanks for your advice 👍. I will of course keep an eye on ebay, but thought that asking here was also worth a try!

There are three general styles of pocket watch chain. Albert, double Albert, Dicken, or Waldemar. These are usually made with chains and are best suited to wear with a vest. You can find images of these chains if you Google the names.

Hard to do over the internet: You need to be really careful matching the colour -- ask me how I know not all yellow golds are equal
