Hi friends, unfortunately I didn't win the auction on this watch. Apart from the watch I was interested in I haven't seen a watch where the bracelet is directly connected with the case. The watch doesn't have lugs!!! Was this watch/bracelet connection a special edition or was it possible to order the watch like this? Maybe someone can help me on this. Thanx Duffy
There are other watches with no lugs such as Omega Dynamic where bracelet is part of the case surround. Not sure if your example is similar design or not
Used to be relatively common on high end brands like PP, AP and Breguet (gold watches). Not so common today.
The big downside with directly connected bands is when they are shortened so much that any built-in adjustment still fails to fit larger wrists. The more vintage the watch the more likely it is that it will not fit you.
But it seems like there is a clasp to disconnect the braclet from the case. I think this didn't possible with the Geneve above
I have a Rolex in a similar style with an integrated bracelet like that. It was a common style for dress watches in the 70s and 80s. As lindo mentioned, any alterations to the bracelet are permanent.
OPs watch is pretty uncommon (IIRC 4000 made) being a caliber 602 hand wind chronometer, so finding one cataloged exactly like it is probably not going to happen. Here are some similar examples with fully integrated bracelets.
