Gentlemen,

after you educated suggestions, I found and reserved a full set 50th anniversary. Some pictures attached. The price was super reasonable. I would say a bargain.
The seller is a trustable, wealthy watch collector; since we live 250 kilometers apart, we signed a sale agreement (he's a lawyer): I paid in advance a small part and I will pay the balance whwn we'll meet next saturday to pick up the watch in person. If the watch does not conform to the description provided, I will be able to get my money back and rejoin the purchase, but I think I found a honest fellow.
In any case, can you please give me some hints to make a purchase in complete safety? What should I watch carefully?
Many thanks
w

Looks good.
The only differences I see between mine and yours is that the 930 end link stamp on mine is between the lugs and I have the laser etched globe on the case back under the "50 Years". Yours may have it but I cannot see it in that picture.

Nice watch, had one in the past. The 50th anniversary GMT came fitted with a Bond style bracelet. This one has been replaced with a speedy bracelet. I prefer that one myself.

The 50th Anniversary was fitted with both the Speedy style bracelet (2234.50) and the Bond Style bracelet (2534.50). There is another thread discussing the 2 bracelets for this watch on Modern Omega Forum.

The watch comes with box and papers and receipt from the jewelry store so I assume everything is genuine... But I will check the caseback.
Thanks

Does the package come with the cards (International Warranty, Chronometer, Pictogram), the wallet, and hang tag (didn't see them pictured above)? Of course, none of that may be important to you. I bought one of these last week and purchased the Bond style bracelet with the gold logo to go on it. Enjoy.

On my wrist. Smooth transaction, complete box plus a deployant clasp. Thanks for your advice

PS. I checked the hour hand: no issues (stuck at 10).

Excellent watch, enjoy it and thanks for putting something else on my research radar. I’m a bit of a sucker for watches with a little red writing on the dial

That's a beauty, I had a line on one a few weeks ago but the owner backed out, too bad! Congrats

Thank you. The only concern is that the omega card is missing. On the other hand, previous owner had the watch serviced in 2014 and pressure tested one year ago, so hopefully no troubles on the short term.
Regards

A very underestimated watch. I once had one. I would get another.

Congrats. Excellent choice.

Cheers,

If you paid the the price of a full set with card then that is an issue. If you thought the price was reasonable and/or the seller didn’t claim it was a full set then you are all good.

Watch looks good. Spin the hands around a couple times and make sure the hour hand doesn't get stuck at ten. It's a fairly common problem with this movement:
https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-seamaster-2534-50-problem.5961/
Other than where one particular watch failed I don’t see anything in that thread or elsewhere that suggests there is anything particular about 10 which makes the hour wheel fail. If it fails, it fails, I don’t think checking the 10 transition proves anything.

Well...

😉

I don't know if the 10 has any significance, and I don't recall how each one I've seen fails, but the video above is at least one more example of it failing at 10. But of course the suggestion was to run the hands around the dial a few times, so no matter where it fails it should be evident if it's bad or not.

Cheers, Al

Good demo that. I happily stand corrected.
