·After a few years here---including as a participant in the sales forums---I've learned a thing or two, and thought it was time to share some wisdom with newcomers. Sort of a PSA. In particular, it occurred to me that it might help folks to have an honest glossary of common terms and phrases seen in FS (that's "for sale") ads. I've come up with a few---curious what other folks might add, if you're so inclined.
NOS/New Old Stock: This is just a preowned watch that's in really good condition, but saying it like that isn't sexy.
Not serviced while in my possession: The Omega Forums is a haven for addicts---do you actually think I keep watches long enough to service them?
36mm if you include the crown: This is a 34mm watch--don't kid yourself. But if you think it's creative how I measure that...
Some minor scratches on the back of the lugs: The neighbors called the cops and the cat hid from me for three days after that last strap-change.
Selling to fund another purchase: I already spent this money---please, for the love of god, someone buy this.
...what else?
