Yes it is. I did not see any bidding on it and thought I got it just past the reserve. There were a lot of interesting watches there. I got a Tudor as well, did you buy anything?

Nope I missed out on a Movado M90 because my bid was not accepted (and then the next lot already came). Interesting pricing in general. Sorry: I was on the fence about the Gallet and in the end did not bid (cause I could not find a comparble one).

I looked around for comparisons too and the only thing I found was a website with a lot of different versions of the watch and a valuation of 6500-7500 which I think was optimistic, but not sure how old that was!

Found that as well but I don't think it shows an example with identical dial

Seems like there were a bunch of different dial versions over time. I am wondering if the crown is original, do you have any idea?

Also on the fence 😁 Gallet site is a wonderful site but it gave me not enough comfort on both dial and crown. On the other end: does it feel legit? Yes. But for me also a cross ocean deal so the final verdict was don't bid

Suggestion:

Join the Gallet World Facebook page and post a few photos.

There are knowledgeable contributors there who may be able to help.

I'm guessing that you'll feel better or worse afterward, but in any case, not the same as you do now. 😉

It's a beautiful watch. I considered bidding but decided to register one day before the auction - too late given their vetting process. They are in New York and I am in NY. I reckon I could have just showed up.

The expert at Fortuna thought the hands might be resumed, but otherwise ok, but the dial was ok, also kind of reassuring that some lame missing on the dial, but I did not ask about the crown. I am lucky to live closely so I could go look at the watch a couple of times before the sale! Where are you located?

Thanks, that is a good idea about the Facebook group, I will check it out. I am in love with the watch and not too concerned about a few defects really! I am trying to figure out what kind of strap to put on it, the one it came with is too thick and I am thinking maybe a great nylon or suede, what do you think was original to the watch? Probably nylon I would guess...

Hi there. Suppose that this version/execution really exists (galletworld says so) this execution has to be one of the rarest.
I would comment the following

1. Hands. They are probably correct because this and the flight officer clamshell share the same. Also you can see such hands on MultiChron 30M clamshells examples of the same era. They seem relumed though.
2. Dial. Would say lumed same era with hands. Because dial seems so good, like brand new (never came across a dial of this era that has no flaws) i would dare to say that it is a redone dial.
3. Crown not correct in my opinion

No pics of movement also at the auction.

I would not bid😀
