The Swatch Group, or Richemont, or others, won't pull all of their brands out of the Bucherer/Tourneau stores, their universe and market coverage is too big for that. They'll gripe and moan but ultimately play along, but they will have their hands full if Rolex injects too much of their systems into the mix.

I don't think that the Swatch Group, Richemont, LVMH or other groups out there will play apart the only thing that is certain is that Rolex has won against other companies and they will sell much more than all other brands out there. 38% of the revenue in the watch industry jn terms of sales belongs to Rolex.

Other than making money from selling their competitors watches, which is kind of smart, I don’t understand what Rolex gets out of that deal.
If they say they can’t increase their production, is this a way to increase their visibility and pump up demand and increase the supply shortage?

Sorry if there’s already an entire thread of comments I may have missed on this subject.

There is a "mini" thread:

And this article is also quite interesting:

Well, despite saying not too long ago that they simply can't increase production, they are doing just that...

Rolex boosts production to meet surging luxury watch demand (yahoo.com)

So once again take everything that this company tells you with a grain if salt the size of mount Everest...

Interesting that three of those new facilities are labelled « temporary » - so they’re clearly experimenting and making sure they’re making no commitment.

If someone says you that the daytona is the best chrono right now, that person is either ignorant or liying.

If you want to sell a Daytona you'll make a deal so in this case, the Daytona IS the best chrono right now.But if you consider the technological aspect then you're right, there are better chrono movements in the watch industry thus is s matter of fact

They also get customer data.

They take your money coming and going, the whores.

(I haven’t followed this story at all because Rolex, but having worked with retail clients customer data is almost as valuable as what’s on the shelves)

Nothing says exclusive luxury like ‘over one million per year.’

Feh.
