Fossil Rolex Collab. Is This Possible?

I picked up this gem at a local garage sale. I am hoping you can help me authenticate it. Two watch making powerhouses really!

I think the hands may not be original. They don’t have any lume. The dial has the odd lume plot.

Before you start sending me PMs with offers, lets wait for the experts to chime in. Perhaps we will one day have a Fossil X Rolex Sub Forum.

Pics: One issue here is that it’s stuck on MONDAY. And everybody hates Mondays.

Now for movement pic. Should I use the hammer in an auction? Or should I Hulk away on this one too?

If the dial turns out to be genuine Rolex, it would have some value on eBay, no?

No hammer on this one…..this is a candidate for a nice pond skimming.
Reckon you could get 4 good skips out of this one……

Let’s not forget that we have Fossil to thank for keeping analog watches alive. I put them in much higher standing than Invicta…which is a gateway drug for many new mechanical watch enthusiasts so can’t really throw shade at them either.

I recently watched an interview with Jean-Claude Biver where he was praising all these brands enthusiasts like to poo-poo on for being the entry point to get people interested in watches. Then from there they have the potential to move into higher tier brands. There’s enough room in the sea for everyone. Obviously, fakes like this one should get the hammer. Also, Invictas.

Full Disclaimer: I bought an Invicta early on, but I quickly got wise and got rid of it. It’s one of those things you feel bad selling because you know the poor bastard is making the same mistake you did.

Personally I'd keep it and start a Tribute Museum so that other poor misfortunates can be educated on fake VS real, if nothing else they are helpful in starting conversations.
An excellent example is my Watchmaker who was passed a fake $50.00 note as payment for work done.
The bank duly informed him of his misfortune, his response was to place it in full view on his glass countertop for all his customers to see and as he says he has started so many conversations over it that it has paid for itself many times over.

Indeed. Though to be frank, I am aware of a few people who have gotten into watches but have never ventured outside of Invicta; and constantly praise their 'quality' and regular sales. Not that I am one to judge someone for liking a watch over the other but if they buy into a lot of the marketing and reject other options I can't help feel a little apprehensive to that attitude. Fossil on the other hand are still constantly trying to push their marketing to the young demographic - I remember a few years back in college they came and invited students to design their own timepieces.
