I'm in a populated area (Washington D.C.)
This reminded me…

I have only ever had one issue with FedEx, granted it was at the beginning of 2021 when guidelines for delivery drivers were still changing depending on covid protocols.

I sold my 14060 Submariner to @JwRosenthal double boxed using FedEx express boxes- able to withstand being dropped out of a plane. Paid $200+ for overnight AM guaranteed (don’t know why they were still using that terminology) delivery from west coast to east coast, signature required. It took two days to get there and it was delivered in the afternoon and the driver left it on an elevated table for all to see it and did not knock on James’ door. He was working from home and saw it when he eventually opened the door.

Never got a refund.

View of where insured $7k signature required watch was left in bright shiny big Fed-ex box …yeah.

I think it is location dependent, I've had no issues with FedEx, UPS, DHL or USPS over the last 18 months or so here in TX. I had one DHL parcel scheduled one day last November but by 6pm I had given up on it, but at 9:30 pm I got a phone call from our front gate asking for the entry code. Long day for that driver, and he was based out of San Antonio, 60+ minutes away.
Having dinner this evening at a friend's house and around 9pm the doorbell rings. "What??" Amazon delivery on the front porch. They work 'em hard.
