I felt right at home. Some things missing though - for the real Swedish experience. They are not telling everyone what they did at the bathroom/rest room - and why. And they are not saying tack (thank you) every second word.

What is? Fargo or the Scandinavian connection to some of the states?

I assume the connection is well known - there must be as many people of Swedish ancestry in those states as there are people living in Sweden, no?

Very. It is a funny film and the Coens are good at what they do. And our Swedish actor Peter Stormare has a nice role in the film... Gaear Grimsrud.

The connection - yes, there was a large emigration from Sweden during the period of 1850 to 1900 - circa 1.5 million left Sweden because of, mostly, poverty. The major part left for the US. Many of them ended up in Minnesota and other states with a similar climate to home. I guess if they were 1 million then - there are probably quite a lot of US citizes with the right language genes today... ;)

I think the 'tre kronor' is one of the nicest military markings you can find on a watch -- way better than a broad arrow and light years ahead of an acronym.

    1980 244 totaled 240k miles
    1988 244 (240) 186k
    1998 S70 totaled 46k
    1998 S70 130k
    2008 S60 127k so far

So, if my pattern continues, I should be ready in 2018.

The P1800 is still on my wish list but I live in a condo now and don't want any auto parts on my watch bench!

Do you think it is a coincidence that Swedens songs for the eurovision song contest has been:

Waterloo (ABBA - winning the contest)
    Diggi loo (Herreys - winning)
Boogaloo (Lotta Engberg - 12th place)

Well, I'm a Dane, master of, uh. pastry? I am a pretty mean cook, actually...

But I've recently completed a pretty much top-bottom renovation of our house which we bought year and a half ago, and I do have some DIY skills. Pretty competent at laying parquet floors, doing up walls, painting, putting in new windows, etc.
