I love the glow of tubes in a darkened room when I'm listening to good music. 🙏🏻

845 Linne Magnetic ?

It's the Line Magnetic 805IA. I've upgraded the tubes, which improves performance from an already exceptional starting point.

Here's the rest of the system for context.

I have a pair of DW2. Sound great. The bass in the old system was bad in one room and great on another.
Love them. Too big for my wife.

Would like to hear others opinions.

They are not great if you are trying to have accurate reproduction of the recording. I bought a pair of DWs a couple years ago for my wife's studio system. They sound reasonably good at lower volumes but the frequency response issues come to light when you push them a little more. Honestly, I could have done a bit better for the $. But they do look interesting, and go well in her studio. When used just for background they are fine. The definitely would not go into my main system.

I haven’t heard their speakers, just thought the marketing was a little over the top.

Not to mention the prices, you got to do a lot of spin to try and overcome those prices.

Nice, Naim sbls? Are you running them active? What are your preamp and amps? Look like older exposure.

Hi Vibe,
that's right, they are Naim SBL and I drive them passively. The amplifiers are Exposure 11/12 & two Mono 8. 11 is the preamplifier (one of the last 11 models with tantalum capacitors), 12 is the matching power supply. Both are from 1990, 8 a little bit later.
Regards - HU

So cool. I know Exposure is highly regarded in the world of British audio. I’ll have to check them out!. I see they make an active crossover for Kan and Sara’s as well.

Active operation is certainly a fine thing, but in my experience it's not as easy as some people hope. A good friend of mine has an active DBL system with a NAIM active crossover (very expensive and complicated) & 6 Exposure 8 power amplifiers, and I don't like the sound as much as his passive SBL system, which is very similar to mine.

So , trying to get a bit more detail out of my L82s . Giving these Aperion RST Aluminun Ribbon Super Tweeters a 30 day audition. They are super well made and nice looking. At 12hz crossover and zero attenuation. Most definitely noticing a greater sense of “air “ and detail especially with drums and percussion. Looking forward to experimenting with different music. So far so good.

I’ve had aktiv Linn katans (actually still have them in storage)and used them for years. but I have Linn SARAS for my office and those might be fun aktiv but it requires some surgery and more clutter. My buddy has a Naim active Linn isobaric system, which is insane. All chrome bumper with 135’s. His system is like 20 boxes, lol. That does not appeal to me. My main system is just two boxes + TT: LP12 SME IV.VI, nagaoka MP500, Lingo 4 to Linn Akurate DSM/3U, Akurate 2200 into harbeth 30.1 and I quite like it.

This is (in my opinion) a really great stereo system. It's not something you often see at HIFI fairs or on Instagram, but it's perfect for listening to music!

Just purchased these 2 items

An AIWA XK-009 tape decks and a NAD C 427 Receiver.
Both are cosmetically perfect and appear to have minimal to no wear, price paid total US$60.00 for both.
