·I've been doing some personal research on the Omega Ranchero models. Among other sources, I've been in touch with the folks at the Omega Museum and they were kind enough to send me the attached which I believe are the exhibits which are currently on display at the museum for both the 2990 and 2996 versions of what is perhaps Omega's biggest marketing disaster. Funny how things change. One of the company's biggest flops is now a collector grail and one of the most difficult references to find in original condition. There's also some information on the more modern "Belgian" Ranchero, which was also a sales flop.
In my personal opinion, the Rancheros are among the coolest watches that Omega ever made and a great addition to a collection. Worth the hunt.
