Why do you make the comment about WiFi?

Do you all not have wfi on airplanes in the EU?

Sorry folks, flightmode for some hours ;-)
... See you later...

Well, first off, I am not located in the EU (most of the time).
I was just curious if you had assumed that he had been using the WiFi onboard to text his message (leaving Belgium)... whenever my investigation showed that he likely sent that pic once back on the ground. 😉
This is why I was asking you about your rationale for the comment.
Lastly, I do not connect to the plane's WiFi for evident security reasons and especially because I enjoy the quiet times that allow me to read peacefully. 👍

Some but not all (not many?) have on-board WiFi, mainly due to the high cost of SatCom-based systems. I don‘t think the EU has fully ratified the direct air-to-ground standards yet that would permit much lower cost/higher bandwidth comms in the EU member states.

Superb Omega piece. Congrats, and I love the story telling nature of the thread.
One thing though, no details about locations of the Journey. (I haven’t bothered researching other threads)
Thanks in anticipation.

I was scared this was going to be a thread with the astronaut's ass watch, but it isn't and I'm relieved.

Enjoy it and congratulations.

This should be an OmegaForum trend ..... document the trip to pick up that special timepiece.... what an experience that would be... I am hoping to do that when my OB finally gets the A11 50th in... fly over 5000 miles to Hawaii to pick it up....with the wife's approval of course

OP's journey is exceptional, and the watch - wow! 👍

Happy to post up my next watch pick up - likely will be photos of the FedEx guy handing me a package on my front porch. 😜

What a journey. That’s certainly how to pick up a watch this special/

I absolutely loved the gold prototype when I tried it. The look is just something else entirely. And then there’s the weight.

I bet you can’t stop looking at it!
