    Hi OF,

Is the Flightmaster a desirable/collectible model?
I've been offered this one but it wears much too large for my wrist?

I typically like to wear the watches I collect!

If it’s me, I would have to be getting a watch at a great price if I wasn’t going to wear it. There are certainly some watches out there that if given an opportunity to purchase I’d jump at it, but they’d be really rare examples I’m not likely to ever find again.

Flightmasters look cool, but don’t do anything for me personally. Same issue too big for my wrist so not something I’d consider.

Agreed. What's the true market value for these? I assume Chrono24 is inflated!!

I’d search eBays ‘Sold’ listings, and the sales forums here. The forums here are a good indication of what collector quality watches are and is a good basis for determining if a watch is ‘correct’.

I think You should wear Your watches, so if designg or size is not for You I would not buy.

I really like Flightmasters. Often use it as my travel watch. My wrist is rather small 16-16.5cm and it wears really comfortably.

Concerning price, all depends on model and condition (I highly recommend "Flightmaster Only" for verification which version might be collectable). For my 145.013 with no dots, I would price it around 3,5kEUR or something like that.

    Overall great watches :)
    Cheers.

To those of us that like them - Yes, absolutely!

To everyone else - not quite so much. :whistling:

A few things come in to play here:

    1 - Which model it is - I can't tell from your photo if thats a 145.026 or a 145.036

2 - Overall condition - Has the case been polished or refinished? Does it have any major marks/dents/chunks out of it? What are the dial and hands like? Any damage? Any lume loss? What's the crystal like? These are expensive now. Does it have any service history? If so, when was it last serviced.

These are a Cat 4 service... so not cheap if you take it to an Omega Authorised watchmaker/center.

3 - What does it have with it - Box? Papers? Bracelet? The one you have posted doesn't have the correct, or even from the look of it an Omega bracelet, so immediately you'd be pricing it as head only.

eBay is a good place to look for sold values, and also to marvel at the listings that keep getting refreshed every 30 days with hugely unrealistic prices against them. ::facepalm1::

Heavy one, but with an original 1162 bracelet ist wears super comfortable. And no, a wrist can never be to small for a Flightmaster

I would love a Flightmaster, but only because I'd love to wear the thing. But then I'm not a collector, all my watches get worn and wouldn't bother buying anything if I didn't like it on my wrist or wouldn't wear it through fear of damage etc.

Hmm, if I would be a pilot, the job for the „tool“ would be obvious … so for me, it is more like a „BBQmaster“ measuring the right time for the Ribs to serve. :)

and don‘t remind me of the crystal, too many projects around :(
