Nice when quality threads like this are brought back to life. I really like the look of the dial and bezel on this watch (even more so on the Bond LE) but when I tried it on at an AD I could not get past the PCL. They showed me some alternative straps but none of them swayed me. It's nice to read how the OP had the same concern originally and came to eventually accept and even appreciate it. I may have to take another look at this one in the future.

Great write up and excellent pictures @Travelller !!!

Brilliant review. Like you I've been sidetracked thinking I need anything from a Panerai to a Daytona. I need to learn my lesson and just buy one of these to satisfy the itch first.

fantastic photo and very similar to my own experience with the watch 6 months in...

I occasionally experiment with different straps but always come back to the great bracelet!

Excellent review. I planned on making this my next watch but after the speedytuesday I put everything else on hold. After reading your review I know that I must have both.

The simplicity and elegance of this watch make it one that I reach for often. In that sense, it mirrors the Speedmaster (my first love). Easily readable with just a glance, but keeps your interest when you really look at it. To me, it is as compelling as the Speemaster, which is really saying something.

How has the polished centre links held up to daily wear and tear?

Awesome review! If Omega didn’t reissue the 1956 Seamaster 300 I’d totally buy this one.

To be honest, I don't wear this (or any of my watches) often enough to gauge wear & tear... . That's the blessing and the curse of owning more than one watch... :whistling: But for sure if you are a "hardcore desk diver" the PCLs will get the brunt of it. Keep in mind though that a superficial scratch will show up much easier on a brushed surface than polished.

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I have looked at this watch so many times. I haven't bought anything because for the last two plus years I keep coming back to the 300 master coaxial. I just don't know why. I guess that tells a story. I would be hoping to wear the watch daily. It looks stunning on your wrist.
