Hello Chris!

Congratulations on what looks like a great find.

I posted a near identical first post a week or two ago. The only difference being that the example I posted was a dog's dinner! It is therefore with some envy I see your post. The reflections of the community have been very helpful.

I'd appreciate your experiences getting into this area of interest and some specifics of your search if you'd be willing to DM me. I've been looking for the exact same and very similar 5xx watches and not come close to the quality and price point yet.

As others have said, look forward to seeing the pictures when it rolls in!

The Seamaster arrived in the mail today and i've been wearing it for a couple of hours now. It is exactly as it was in the pictures, so that is great. I am very happy with it, and am looking forward to wearing it as my daily watch. Thanks all for your help and advice, it really made me pull the trigger and buy the watch!

Congrats Chris, looks great. The next step is playing with straps. Get yourself a strap tool and watch an instructional on how to change out your straps. There were also factory bracelets for these watches that are incredibly comfortable and sport the watch up a bit.
The strap you have on there now is very heavily padded and they tend to be very stiff. I have a bony wrist like you do and I tend to find unpadded calf or exotic skinned straps around 2mm to be very flexible and comfortable without annoying the wrist bone (can flex over it).
Enjoy your new prize!

Welcome, @ChrisK25! I am not one of the experts here (that really is a hard-won honour), but FWIW I think you did great! I also think that, as an engineer, you will be back for more one day, so please do help yourself to a profile pic. I am also grateful to you for surfacing the only other cal 610 (manual) powered watch I can recall seeing on here: as
These are lovely watches that go equally well casual or dress-d up.
In which vein, can I tempt you to try the blue, sir? 👍

Happy OF-ing! 😁
