·I have been searching for a vintage Omega for ages. I finally found this watch from an online seller. The seller says it is from the 70s and asks for 1000 USD. Is it worth it? What do you think about the condition?

·It’s a fairly common but nice reference. Bulletproof movements and the 36mm size wears very well. However, for that price I would expect a perfect dial and perhaps even a bracelet.
Gold cap is generally the least desirable case material so with no bracelet and dial issues it should be half the asking price at best imo

··Oooo subtitles!Could be from the early '70s but more likely late 1960s. There is dial damage and no movement shot which is a concern. The lume is very dark too so I suspect that has had damp inside. The price would be OK for a nicely running one of those, not so much for what could be a basket case in movement terms. Get a movement shot or get it a lot cheaper as there are a risks there.

Is there any proof it has been serviced at all? If you like it, I suppose $750 might be nearer the mark but with that dial a grand does sound toppy to me
ps I can just about make out a serial starting 2 there which suggests late 1960s as I suspected.

While browsing other listings for this model, I noticed that the seconds hand on this particular watch seems slightly shorter than usual. I didn’t pay attention to this detail while I was at the shop. Since I’m not very familiar with these watches, would you say the seconds hand might have been replaced? ( I add some photos found online)

·That dial would not be acceptable for me, personally. The brushed finish is missing from the bezel. And yes, the sweep hand is wrong. The condition just is not good at all, and that watch will be very hard to sell. If you have a firm budget at ~$600, I recommend being patient and trying to buy a watch privately or in an auction. Dealers need to make a profit, and if they sell you a watch for $600, they will have bought it at $300, which is really bottom-fishing.

·The movement ring retaining tabs are missing in your video. The dial looks like it has been corroded with a fingerprint. I would avoid.
