·Congrats on your new Seamaster! I'm also of the opinion to just keep wearing it. It makes your watch unique, and I personally don't mind keeping scars like on sport models like the SMP 300. I had a very similar scar on an older 2254 Seamaster model, and I kept wearing it for a decade before I parted with the watch.
If you'd like to personalize it even further, might I suggest something out of the ordinary? Especially if you're under 60 years of age:
- If the bezel on your Seamaster allows the "insert" to be re-positioned, you could ask a watchmaker whether this current generation of Seamasters allow for repositioning/rotation of the insert within that bezel, so that the outer bezel scar lines up with the minute marker of your current age?
- This way, it becomes a market of how old you were when you acquired this watch!
Swapping out bezel inserts (that color-filled ring, on which the minute markers are printed) was an accessible customization on older generation Seamasters. Not sure if it's as easy of a procedure on these latest generation Seamasters with ceramic bezel inserts.
