I predict that someone will state that the wife unit is the watch foe.

I had an airplane seatbelt remove a ceramic Rolex bezel last year. The bezel was fine but re-attaching it was not cheap.

BOING! Might as well be jet propelled - and they don't have friggin' shoulders to get the springbar tool around. ::rant: If there aren't lug holes, those things SUCK!

same for me, I'd say a spring bar tool does the most damage to mine.

Even when I'm working out and exercising with the watch on it doesn't get in the way of damage.

Some probably will, but not me. First, my wife occasionally raids my box. There's a red/pink gold 1946 JLC that she's damn fond of. Second, it's the pot calling the kettle black. Shoes & purses versus watches and wine..... although she's as much into wine (and I buy her favorites too to keep her happy and lubricated :p) as I am. Our agreement is that as long as the bills are getting paid we don't bitch at each other over hobbies. I have a great wife, eh?

    Absolutely!

I can't label my wife unit a watch foe either. She's actually my watch friend...since she (as well as the kid units) gave me a new Speedy Gonzales w/ presentation box for my recent 51st b-day. But...she has to be my watch friend...I gave her a new Rolex Lady Datejust in steel and gold 2 years ago.

I do believe my wife unit could be labeled a car foe. She thinks my '01 Ford Mustang Bullitt GT is "hill-jack" and my '07 Ford Police Interceptor is "mundane". Also, she won't let me have a Ford GT.

    The belt buckle!

We were rushing between engagements while on holiday in Paris. We had to get back to the hotel, change from day clothes to casual evening gear and catch the coach for dinner at the Eiffel Tower.

After half stripping off in the lift, we rushed into the room, applied another layer of deoderant and I grabbed my trousers and held them by the waist to give them a shake before I put them on.

The belt was in the loops and flicked up as I shook. I heard a "CRACK" noise and saw that the crystal of my lovely 1947 bumper had been crack'd ::censored::

    Moral of my story.

Time your engagements, get fully dressed, put watch on.

My wife has become a pretty good watch ally now. A few years ago, though, she could be heard using the word "hate" in reference to my watches :(.

Not anymore. Ironically, since I started acquiring more expensive pieces she has slowly come to appreciate them as beautiful mechanical works of art. She often borrows them... Which is the only way she is a watch "foe". She is not quite as watch conscious as I am so the Speedy or the SM300 or MM300 will often come home with a few smacks. Luckily, she hasn't scratched the bezel on my MM300, and has just marked up the hesalite crystals on the other two - easily fixed. But the benefit of having her appreciation for the watches outweighs for me the effect of her previous animosity.... :)

That rock specifically can hurt more than your watch for sure.

You really don't want to slip and fall...it's a long way down...with nothing to stop you but the ground at the bottom...

    Steep...yes very...

    But it is spectacular...
