Hello,
Thanks in advance for any help the community can provide. I’m looking at buying my first omega and am not confident of the authenticity of this piece. I don’t have any specifics as to why I’m skeptical, but from the research I’ve done, some things just don’t look quite right to me. Maybe I’m just skeptical in general. Please help.

The watch appears to be legit, it's a US-cased SMDV. The movement is looking a bit rough and I'd really like to see better photos of the dial. There may be a small stamp/hallmark on the edge of the back between the lugs indicating the case material (e.g. 14k GF vs 14k). If you have more information about it, including asking price, information about the seller (or sales platform), and research you have done, please post everything all at once so we can help you. It's tedious when we have to pry information out of a new member piece by piece.

Thanks for the reply. The movement does look rough. I’m hoping the camera and lighting are to blame. The guy is not great at communicating via message and photos. What would your concerns be with the dial? I can probably get it for about $300. Should I grab it in this condition?

$300 is all the money for a gold-plated SMDV with no bracelet and a damaged movement, and I'm concerned about the originality of the dial. L's looking misaligned. You'd need better photos.

It's really an entry-level piece, nothing special, so no reason to jump on it IMO.

For me, if it's a maybe just pass it by and find something that draws you to it.
