7363 checking in.

Just picked up the latest version of the Forstner flat link for the FOIS. Brushed and polished. Loving it.

I like the idea of that clasp, I always feel like I’m going to break something taking the watch off. It’s on the list for a future purchase

Hello everyone,

Just ordered my first Omega and it's a FOIS! Love the straight lugs and simplicity of the design. I had my email on notification with Omega's website in case one was ever found again. This past Wednesday I received an alert, and after a few tries checking out the order was processed.

Shipping notification was yesterday and the watch should arrive on Monday (coming from NJ). Will be sure to follow-up with what the Serial No. is.

Wow that is pretty cool that you were able to obtain a FOIS directly from Omega! It is a watch that I really enjoy. Congratulations!

Last December, I purchased my FOiS and I have out Forstner Flatlink bracelet as well and I’m loving it. I have replaced a clasp with a vintage Omega one.

Congratulations for your acquisition! You are so lucky to still get FOiS at this time brand new from Omega! I got mine last December and enjoying a lot! Make sure to let us all know what is your number. Mine is 16026.

Congrats! That is a pretty fortuitous pickup.

Mine is about to have its 2nd birthday and still doing hard duty on the boat, the ski hills and everywhere but the wards. I absolutely love it, and my youngest has filed claim for later years.

It's well on its way to classic statua, IMO. But more than that, it's a terrific all-round Omega, that rewards everyday wear.

So I received my watch today, number 12799 so not a new one (maybe sent back from an OB/AD that stopped carrying Omega?).

Love the watch, it looks great! BUT, there seems to be an issue with the hour counter of the chrono function. It doesn't reset back to 12 o'clock, but rather to somewhere between 2/3 hours.

I called Omega US and they checked their system for replacements and said no others are available, but did agree that it's not something that should be the case with a brand new watch. They're sending me a pre-paid label to send it back to a service center for repair (hopefully it won't take too long).

Bummer that it happened on my first Omega haha! Hope this won't be the case for any future ones as well! I guess it does add to the story of this particular watch for me though and I will laugh at it in the future 😉.

Sorry to hear. I didn't want to be a downer when I saw your first post that the watch came from NJ, but that is where one of the service centers for Omega is, so it sounded suspect for a watch to be sitting there.

I was thinking it was likely an AD that either stopped selling Omega or an OB that may have closed down and sent their unsold stock back to NJ.

I ended up reading some of the threads on this forum regarding the 1861 movement and how the hour counter works (including Archer's great in-depth post). Today I spent the afternoon letting the chrono function run for variable lengths of time and reset it. The hand slowly aligned towards 12 o'clock each time and is now dead on.

Not entirely sure what caused it and whether it's something I should still have serviced or not. I set the time and am going to run it overnight to see how accurate it is and make sure the chrono function is still working well, but if I can avoid sending it in I don't think I'd like to have the new watch gone for a couple months and opened up if not absolutely necessary.

Any idea of what could have potentially caused the hand to be mis-aligned, and what multiple start/stop/reset cycles would do to align it again?

I actually have the same issue with mine. It was serviced by Omega about 6 months ago. It’ll end up having to go back to them to be looked at, sadly.

That sucks. Gotta say this watch seems to be the most fragile I’ve had. Perhaps been unlucky but overall not been too impressed. Lucky I like the look of it otherwise I’d of sold it right away.

Different case back than original?

Quick question. Is this movement non hacking or am I not pulling the crown out far enough. It feels as if I’ve pulled it out as far as it will easily go and seconds hand keeps going. This is my first manual watch. All my others are automatic

1861 is non-hacking, only from 3861 do Speedy's have a hacking movement.
