Beautiful! Is that an Omega 19mm leather band?

Nope, an aftermarket 20mm alligator with an Omega-like clasp. When I received it, I was a bit disappointed by seing an "OMEGA" on the back of the strap - it's a replica. It didn't say so in the advert, I just assumed it was an unbranded leather strap... Still, good value for the money; would never have bought it if it had been falsely advertised, though.

Looks great, really dig the exposed pushers with the brown strap.

Hi,

2 days ago, at the Omega Paris Boutique, I was told that the FOIS was now discontinued and could not be ordered by Omega retailers anymore.

Has this information been confirmed? It would mean a production for less than 3 years. with a total of how much watches? 5000?

I also think they should start using tritium for all this watches, so that we can buy them new and witness all over again the natural aging process rather than a cosmetic enhanced one.

Geeze, not me. I want the lume to still be working ten years later. Luminova is great stuff.

Omega's site does not list the model as "discontinued" therefore I'd suspect there are some in the hands of perhaps a few dealers.

I got mine, unworn from its original owner early this year..number 1242 of ???

Is the FOIS *the same* as the vintage straight lugs?

Or very similar?

The case? Similar, not the same.

I had a FOIS, #16. Sold it when my 002 came in.

There are a few differences.
Most evident is the sapphire crystal.
Then the minute markers on the outer track
Followed by the subdial hands.

It is a lovely watch, that I would still have in rotation, if i did not pick up the original.

The original was a 2998-5, wasn't it?

Considering a FOIS, but not sure if it would get much wrist time.

I love her! The FOIS is not truely like the original - but a beaty on its own - likely to be close to the original 👍

My AD told me yesterday, they would not be able to source another FOIS from Omega in 2015, whatever that means. You could be right with a total production of 5000, mine is 44xx. Looks like the steel model will be replaced with the Sedna version.

My first Omega. Had to make a few mods, and it's getting more wrist time than my other watches.

Hmmm don't like the bracelet you put on it.. Total mismatch..

Don't like that bracelet at all by the way also not on other modern omegas. Those shiny midlinks are a turnoff for me..

Does anyone know if there is any official numbers on how many that was made? Is the model really discontinued?

It hasn't been discontinued. It is still on Omega's site and I saw one at an AD last week and a boutique yesterday.

Ok. I have seen a few new around as well, but guess manufacturing date could be a while back. But as you say... they are still on the Omega site so...

This will be my next watch and I want it now! Kringkily had one last week but I was too slow. On the hunt now. I've seen them around $3500 nib from overseas sellers, but I'd rather buy "local."

I've already got a strap for it.
