    Checking in with 73xx.

    I only have two problems with the watch so far;

    1. It can be a bit difficult to see the hands.

    2. After three weeks, my other two Omegas have seen only the inside of my watch box!

    Nice. I periodically get tempted to buy one of these bracelets for my FOIS. I get the appeal of the more vintage looking bracelet but these look a better fit to me.

    Thanks. Fit is good to the case but since mine has brushed lugs will go back to the 1125 as it is fully brushed and as such a better match; if interested on the 1565/976 let me know!

    Anybody notice that some watches have numbers on the case lugs and some don't? Apologies if this has already been discussed.

    To my knowledge all FOIS should have the serial number on the lug back side (by 7) unless erased / polished out (done by some grey resellers years ago but not a practice today as far as I know)

    fskywalker,

    You are exactly right. I couldn't see the numbers even with my new bifocals. A loupe reveled them.

    They are tiny!

    So, god-damn this forum to hell. I'm not sure how I came across OF exactly, but after five minutes browsing I knew I wanted an Omega. But that was it. One watch, and I'd be done. I spent north of e900 on a nice 1970 Connie c-shape with a bracelet. And that was me - I felt a million bucks. It looked great. One of the nicest things I owned. I'd never need another watch.

    Friend's - all of us from working-class backgrounds - congratulated me on my purchase, even as they shook their head and thought Dedalus05 has a bit of a screw loose spending that much on a watch.

    Of course I continued to browse the OF forums so I could show off pictures of my watch, and delight as other members picked up their first Connies and showed them off too. Life was good, except of course for those idiotic speedy enthusiasts who seemed to swamp the boards with endless threads with Moonwatches, their LEs, the Speedy Tuesday Editions and so on. We get it lads, ye like Speedys, but shut up already it's just a watch. I would never be interested in one. It's too big on the wrist, many are too showy. So it went to space and the moon, big whoop.

    I'll tell you what, I'll try one on in the ADs and close the debate. If I try one on, I'll know for sure I'd never be interested. So last May I did exactly that, and yep - it was too big, wouldn't suit me. Thank Christ I put that to bed or next thing you know I'd be spending 4k on a second watch. I mean I'm flush, I'm doing well, I can afford it - but I'd never be that frivolous with my money. What am I, an idiot? I walked out of the ADs congratulating myself on my sound judgement, my modest tastes, my strength of will in not buying into the Speedy hype.

    You know where this is going. Suffice to say I spent the next few months obsessing, and yesterday I caved. FOIS number 87** checking in:

    EDIT - Oh, my two pieces together while the AD was rooting around for the FOIS box after my purchase. I have a steel 19mm bracelet for the Connie in storage - it'd hardly go on the FOIS would it?

    Congrats! I've owned my FOIS for just about 2 years (my second Speedmaster), and love it. For me, it really is the perfect daily wear Speedmaster, as it both dresses up and down really well. Since I bought it, I've bought both Speedy Tuesdays.

    Wait, I just realized why my wife is so pissed at me right now...
