Mine is in the 5800s and is a week old. I wouldn't worry in the least, especially if you bought it new with warranty. Besides, the 1861 is a solid movement. I'm not even sure if they leave the factory in chronological order. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

I was thinking about buying this watch but it seems small in my opinion compare to the normal moonwatch. I know it's only 1 mm smaller but the crown guard does make the watch bigger. Nice watch tho.

I think you'll find that's actually why most people on this thread, myself included, bought the watch. I have a smaller wrist and it wears better for me than a Pro.

Has anyone ever had issues with FOiS caseback being sharp on the wrist?

Mine is quite sharp around the edge I've circled in red (around most of the caseback).

I have been thinking of replacing it with a vintage solid caseback or a Thomas Preik display back.

If I go with a solid caseback from a speedy pro/vintage speedmaster does anyone know if I will need any spacers/etc?

I have not but i did notice trying on different Omega models that the crown would dig in my wrist. So maybe being cut / formed differently?

At the nearest OB theirs had much less of an edge. The difference in height of the area circled was much smaller than on mine. They confirmed that mine was abnormally sharp and recommended taking a trip to the Omega service center in Secaucus NJ (I am in NJ).

Strange. No, I've not had this issue.

Have any FOIS owners got a suggestion for a deployant/strap combo that works well with this? Should I be going with the Omega 16mm? Is there a strap Omega makes that works with that?

I tried my Berenia leather deployment band (reference CUZ000918, 20mm) and looked awesome on my now gone CK2998 (19mm lug size), it should look very nice on the FOIS (which is 19mm lug size as well, probably my next Speedy [emoji2])

Yes, yes ,yes. Was just noticing this yesterday. And intend on doing the same thing. Quite uncomfortable at times. Plus, the night time visibility of the main hands is sub-optimal. Also, I don't love the lower profile crown for winding. Otherwise, really like it...

Hello FOIS owners, I am looking forward to get one soon. However the caseback is fugly tbh. I was thinking to replace it with a 145.012 service caseback. Can anyone confirm if it can fit?

Looks like one of us will have to try a new caseback and report back...

Re: Deployant straps-- I purchased the strap from the AT good planet which is 19mm. It definitely gives the watch a sportier look which I like more than the original brown leather. It is blue kevlar. 16mm is the deployant size.

Never had this issue, have you examined it under magnification? Might be some kind of a scratch on the edge.

I will check under magnification later today.

I am doubtful however, since it is sharp around most of the entire circumference of the caseback.

I ask because I have one and have no issues, just checked again for you though and it is very smooth.
Wonder if it was some type of stamping issue in manufacture?

It definitely seems more related to manufacturing.

No scratches under magnification.
