    I bought mine a few weeks ago and not many left to go looking at the number of mine. I was amazed they still had one! it was in the Omega store maybe that's why?

    I see quite a few of these watches for sale in new/mint condition, for instance on Chrono24. The price is around 3.300-3500 USD. Is this the going retail price and do people think that this particular edition will hold its value? I guess the watch itself has the same technical quality as the other Speedmasters - if so, the price seems to be a bargain?

    I think the reason to buy this particular model is wearability -- for me I love having a speedy in that form factor, it's perfect as a daily wear watch when I want to break up my classic 42mm models. At that price point, it was good value for someone who enjoys Speedmasters and likes to wear them regularly, certainly more than paying roughly double for a random limited edition.

    45XX here. Love this one, more than my old 3592.50.

    I agree. Very good value when compared to other Speedies, and no less worthy.

    For all of you FOIS owners: since the watch has been out since 2012 and my number is 5000 something is it bad it has been sitting so long with a recent last week purchase? Or am I too paranoid?

    Mine is in the 5800s and is a week old. I wouldn't worry in the least, especially if you bought it new with warranty. Besides, the 1861 is a solid movement. I'm not even sure if they leave the factory in chronological order. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

    I really dig the FOIS. I craved this watch since it's introduction. :thumbsup:
    Last Year acquired a sapphire Speedmaster Moonphase and loved it but what left me a little cold was the sapphire crystal which I thought robbed the Speedmaster of much of its warmth and that's one of the two reasons it moved on and that I'm on the fence with the FOIS. The other one being the "Limited Edition" of 7000? Or are maybe Omega means there will be 7000 Limited Editions of the Speedmaster Professional? :D

    I almost ::love:: it...

    It's not a limited edition and Omega has never called it a limited edition.
