First of the 2015...SM 120

Just pulled the trigger on the first watch of 2015.... circa 1966 Seamaster 120. Not as rugged and sought after as her big bro SM 300 but for me there's something about a manual wind, oh yea, and that whole cost thing! But had my eye on a clean original piece for a while and missed a few last year so happy to have her on board. Those of you who saw my intro post clearly know these are not my pics as I’m still an epic failure at figure that aspect out. Photos are from seller. Should be on the ground here by this weekend. Already stalking #2.......

Nice, congrats. Looks like a service is in order. It should be possible to re-lume the hands so they match the dial.

Ahhhh yes the waiting game is a drag but similar to Christmas morning as a kid so kinda fun. I've purchased from Singapore once and shipping to the States was about 10 days. Saw the pics on your other post, love the dial.

These are a really nice watch and yours has a great bezel. These are a one piece bezel and unobtainable. I wonder why they made both manual and auto versions of the same watch?

Excuse for a picture of my 565 Auto version!

Cheers, Chris

Thanks!

I'm a big fan of keeping things original or replacing with NOS parts (if that's what you guys call it here in the watch world.)
How looking at your seamaster i think i need to pick one of these gorgeous babies up too... :S

Nice piece, I'll never get tired of that lug design for old SMs.

Thanks! Your dial is amazing and a great watch. What kind of band do your normally wear it on? I'm thinking of ordering a leather NATO Gunny. No idea why they have manual and auto, possibly started as a manual on first few production years then moved to auto.

I'm with you on that, but the problem is that the lume crumbles and ends in the movement.

Thanks. I wear mine on a rubber strap. For me, it doesn't suit a leather NATO as its not sufficiently 'chunky'. Don't forget, these are 19mm lugs which is a bit of an odd size so, options may be limited.

I quite like this combination and it was not expensive so, worth a try:

Chris, looks solid on the black rubber. Here's my pic now of the watch in my possession (running great). I have it on black leather for now as the only band I had available. Valid point on the NATO, but I did order one and we'll see how it looks. If bad I'm sure others in the watch box will fight over who gets to sport NATO. Ended up going B&G and not Gunny.
