I have wanted one of these for I know the better part of 20 years. After selling off most of my collection and some serious trading I was able to make it happen. Granted the watch has been refurbished and it does have some aftermarket parts, but it also contains a lot of original service parts as well. It contains original serviced movement, aged nicely service hands and dial, stainless steel service bezel, aftermarket tropic 19 crystal, aftermarket bezel insert. The watch also contains all new seals and gaskets. It did pass a pressure test at 10bar so it does retain at least half it's water resistance..Not that it will ever be used for diving...It is a circa 1957 6538 and as I've said I have always wanted one.

Best looking Sub of all!

I'm a '57 model with wear, and both service and aftermarket parts. I can appreciate your sub. It will be grand to see featured in your Forum posts in future!

Wear and enjoy. Subs were designed to work, not sit in a safe. Just don’t go swimming with it.

Lovely watch. 😀 It’s a shame that there are so many places where you can’t wear it without fear of being assaulted and robbed. 😡

Other than a few large cities in the US, is this really a problem? Are there hard statistics on how many people have been assaulted/robbed of their Rolex, and not just anecdotal evidence?

I think that it’s largely anecdotal, but it’s certainly not confined just to the US.

If you have a good indie watch maker, they can adjust the regulation to get it within the +4 window...if you want to do it. Or, once every week or two, you can just reset it. That would be my choice. The watch beautiful and is so perfect the way it is, I'd just wear it and enjoy it. In fact it may be so subtle (compared to modern dive watches) that it flies under the crooks' radar. You can even have some fun wearing it on nice cordovan leather strap by Horween. That will make it even more invisible to crooks...and save wear and tear on the bracelet. Most of all, don't hide it away, it is a watch I could never stop looking at.

I have found one thing that irks me that is the fact the serial number on the case is late 58 early 59 and inside the caseback it's from 3 of 57....

Why should that upset you, it is a franken anyway. No one can see the inside back case stamp.
